Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for “Surabhi Chayan Shrakhla”
This program was launched by Govt. of India on 26.11.2024.
Objective:
Identification and selection of elite animals. Identify Superior Germplasm .
- Locate elite animals in farmers’ fields and institutional herds (Gaushalas, Gosadans, Pinjarpoles, Cattle Breeding Farms)
Publish Elite Animal Lists
- Share detailed information on elite animals with their productivity metrics.
Encourage Farmers Certification for maintaining elite animals.
- Incentives and support.
- Promote export of superior germplasm
Raise Awareness & Income
- Educate farmers on benefits, improve productivity, and boost income through better market opportunities.
The target of Odisha for the selection of Elite animals is 5000. Till now, 3740 elite animals have been selected in our State as per the report of Bharat Pashudhan Portal.
